Montecristo No. 4 (Aged)

Having tried a 16yr old No. 4 has probably got to be one of my best cigar experiences to date.

Whilst retaining all the robustness and powerful aroma synonymous with the label, the acidity of the smoke is virtually non-existent leaving the palette entirely unscathed. Years have inculcated complexity and the woody and earthy tones are consistent throughout the entire draw, not just upon the initial inhalation.

It would be a travesty to smoke this sort of well-aged cigar with anything other than premium scotch of at least 18 years of age. I personally enjoyed this one with a 21yr old Lagavulin reserve and found the match to be splendid.
